Purpose
This team member will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency.
- Operate and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, generators, and other mechanical equipment
- Control and adjust various parameters to maintain optimal operating conditions
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential issues
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures promptly
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in the operation and maintenance of equipment
- Conduct safety checks and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Maintain detailed records of equipment operations, maintenance activities, and repairs
- Document reading, adjustments, and other relevant data
- Implement energy conservation measures to optimize energy use and reduce operational costs
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency
- Respond to emergency situations promptly, such as equipment failures or malfunctions
- Take appropriate actions to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of personnel
- Collaborate with other engineering and maintenance staff to coordinate activities and projects
- Communication effectively with supervisors, contractors, and other relevant parties
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on new hires
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess Stationary Engineer License, preferably NIULPE
- 5-7 years’ experience in operating and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of relevant safety-regulations and procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
